The Thrift & Vintage Guide: Atlanta Edition – Community-Recommended Spots for Sustainable Style
This guide is a little different—it’s not just a roundup of stores, it’s a living list built from real community recommendations. After spending time thrifting around Atlanta and the surrounding cities, I realized something: even though I’ve found some great pieces over the years, I still haven’t felt wowed by the overall experience. I’ll be the first to admit, I haven’t exactly ventured out much in the last five years—life changes, pivots, and shifting priorities (but that’s a conversation for another day).
So, I turned to my Threads community and asked: Where are the thrift and vintage spots you find your best gems? And y’all delivered. So far, I’ve received over 25 recommendations! To give some weight to each suggestion, I tallied how many times each location came up—you’ll see the count listed next to each store.
This year, I’m committed to checking them all out, one by one, pairing each thrifting adventure with a food outing for my new series: When Vintage Met Vegan.
If you want to join me on future thrift trips or meet-ups, sign up for my newsletter or follow along at @VintageVegan78 for all things secondhand, sustainable, and delicious.
Why This Isn’t Just a Thrift List—It’s a Reciprocity System
Thrifting isn’t about accumulating stuff just because it’s cheap or convenient. It’s about being part of a larger cycle—where what we give and what we receive holds equal value. Every time you buy secondhand, you’re giving new life to something old, keeping waste out of landfills, and supporting a more mindful system. But it doesn't stop there.
✔ Give as much as you get. Got pieces collecting dust? Release them. Let someone else fall in love with them.
✔ Curate, don’t collect. Everything in your closet should reflect you, not just fill space.
✔ Shop with intention. Sustainable style starts with knowing why you're buying, not just where.
This is about showing up authentically—even in what you wear.
Atlanta’s Community-Recommended Thrift & Vintage Spots
Every store listed below came from my Threads community, and each recommendation has been tallied so you can see how often it popped up. Over time, I’ll share my personal experiences with each as I explore them (and share where I grab a bite afterward—because you know food and fashion go hand in hand here).
